The HCIC Annual Conference schedule is designed to allow opportunities for recreation. A shortened schedule on Tuesday allows for a full afternoon of fun. You are "on your own" for dinner on Tuesday--participants usually go in groups to one of the many restaurants in the area.

Visit the Aquarium

Located on the site of a former sardine cannery on Cannery Row in Monterey, the Monterey Bay Aquarium holds 35,000 plants and animals representing over 600 species. For more information, visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium web site.


Kayaking is available at Adventures by the Sea. You can kayak through the kelp forests and see otters and harbor seals in their natural environment. Daily tours and rentals are offered and both novice and advanced paddlers are welcome.

Stroll in Carmel-by-the-Sea

Famous for its movie stars, shopping and art, Carmel-by-the-Sea is a gorgeous place to spend a day.
